Corporate Brainwashing
This firmwide e-mail arrived in our inboxes today. It's so bad, I couldn't even make this up. -t
Launch of the Firm's Values
Today marks the launch of the firm's values. Every member of the firm will be receiving a brochure introducing the values together with a branded mouse-mat, a lanyard and a badge reel for your office identity card. The brochure is also available on [the Intranet] and can be accessed via the link above. In the next few days the standard screensaver will be replaced by a new screensaver featuring the values.
Of course, in many ways our four values - clients come first, quality in all we do, one firmwide team, commitment to the firm's success - are not new: they are rooted in [our] key strengths and the firm's culture. But they also reflect our aspirations for the future: if we are rigorous in applying these principles across the firm it will help us achieve our vision - to be a top quality international law firm doing high-end work for major international businesses. The values are therefore a keystone of our strategy.
To explain the thinking behind the values and what they mean in practice, there will be presentations in every office across the firm over the next week which we would like everyone to attend. These will be followed by smaller workshops over the next six weeks which provide an opportunity to discuss what they mean for you and your area of work, and for you to give your feedback via the facilitators. Again, we hope you will participate actively in one of these sessions.
With your support and involvement, our values will contribute to the firm's success and to making this a great place to work for all our people.
