Hurricane Irene
So Hurricane Irene came and left a path of destruction in her wake up and down the east coast of the US... So many images of floods and fires it totally boggles the mind. Especially the fires, in the middle of flood waters! Truly unbelievable what Mother Nature can do once she unleashes. And of course, again we are without hot water! I tell you, what's the point of living 2 blocks from Con Ed if we are always the last to get water and electricity back after every major event in NYC? The good thing is that we did not have to deal with lack of electricity during the weekend, or being evacuated... we were one block off from the evac zone!
Min and I hosted a pregnant lady at our home! :) We were a little worried that Baby Due-So would make an early entrance and bridges would be closed so Sue stayed with us over the weekend... We had all the comforts of home, except for hot water... Thank goodness it was relatively warm... taking cold baths is not fun! We even had pizza delivery on Sunday! Gotta love NYC!
All was relatively back to normal by this morning... best commute in a while -- buses running up and down the avenues with no issues... beautiful blue skies without a cloud in sight... breezy 65 degrees and sunny... so very different from just 18 hours ago!
Hope all are safe!
